I love this chapter. My little sister Amy read it and said it was her favorite, “because it just makes sense.” That’s how I feel about it. It’s something practical you can do – serve others, find your place in the great adventure, and then watch how it sets you free. I asked my friend Alyson to share her own story with us. It was pretty ironic because we filmed this a few days after she went to a ceremony to receive a service award from Nazareth College (where she was finishing up her last few weeks of undergrad). I love her story, because it exactly fits this chapter. Hear how serving others helped her find confidence, and be inspired to find ways to make a difference in your own community.

Something like serving and/or developing a new interest, passion, or hobby. You can also check out a clip of my song “Who Will Go” or purchase it from the online iTunes store.

Bible Reading:Acts 20:35 talks about it being better to give than to receive. Sometimes it’s easy to forget this principle in our self-focused culture. It’s tempting to believe that happiness comes when we have all the right things. We forget that it’s better to give than to receive; that true joy comes when we stop focusing on ourselves and start focusing on others. That’s when confidence explodes.
